Language Experience in the Alps

What an experience! CILFA offered the dream French language package--gorgeous location in Annecy at the foot of the Alps, superb language instruction, stimulating mix of ages and nationalities in the classroom, and CILFA found me a fabulous home-stay family where I was able to immerse myself in French daily life. Nickel!

J’ai de bons souvenirs de mon séjour au CILFA : d’un accueil chaleureux, de la disponibilité de cours particuliers (j’ai réussi au DALF C1), du petit studio impeccable à la résidence Jean Monnet. Les sorties culturelles étaient intéressantes et informatives, et la ville d’Annecy est charmante. Puis l’atout pour une étrangère : je pouvais
tout faire sans voiture !

Enjoyable experience

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at CILFA, it was great for improving my level of French and I found that the course was well structured and made it easy (well as easy as learning languages can get!) to build on existing knowledge. Everyone was very friendly and the teachers are very approachable and effortlessly go the extra mile to assist in any way they can. If you wish to improve your French in a wonderful setting, CILFA is one I would recommend.

learning in nice atmosphere

Je voulais améliorer mes connaissances de français que j’avais apprises pendant quelques années à l’école mais que je n’avais pas suffisamment pratiquées. Une amie m’avait recommandé le CILFA à Annecy, et toutes mes attentes se sont réalisées. Les classes sont petites, et alors on y trouve une condition optimale pour apprendre cette belle langue. En plus, les profs sont très sympas. On rencontre des étudiants du monde entier. La ville d’Annecy est très jolie, et parce qu’elle est située directement au bord du Lac d’Annecy, l’après-midi on peut faire de la natation ou louer un voilier pour quelques jours. Les montagnes qui s’élèvent autour du lac sont formidables pour faire de la randonnée ou, si on ose, faire du parapente. En plus des cours, le CILFA offre un programme riche d’activités, qui vont d’une dégustation de fromage et de vins de la région à une excursion aux Gorges du Fier, situées à quelques kilomètres d’Annecy. Le grand moment de mon séjour était certainement de participer à la CilfaCyclette, un tour de vélo bien organisé par mon prof Frédéric. Pendant trois jours, on a traversé la jolie région au sud d’Annecy, dormi dans des tentes et visité entre autres les villes d’Albertville et de Chambéry et autres curiosités. Alors je suis très heureux d’avoir choisi le CILFA à Annecy, espérons que je vais y retourner: qui vivra, verra!

Zwar hatte ich vier Jahre Französisch in der Schule, aber leider nie aktive Sprachpraxis gehabt. Um meine Kenntnisse zu verbessern, habe ich gezielt in Frankreich nach einem Sprachkurs gesucht. Eine Freundin empfahl mir aus eigener Erfahrung CILFA in Annecy, die Stadt sei schön und der Unterricht effektiv. Tatsächlich wurden all meine Erwartungen erfüllt. Die Klassen sind klein, so dass man hier optimale Lernbedingungen vorfindet, um diese schöne Sprache zu erlernen. Die Lehrer sind sehr nett, und die Schüler kommen aus aller Welt angereist. Annecy ist eine bildschöne Stadt, direkt am Lac d’Annecy zwischen Bergen gelegen, so dass sich hier mit Baden und Segeln oder auch Paragliden ein breites Freizeitangebot bietet. CILFA selbst bietet zudem ein reichhaltiges Angebot an zusätzlichen Aktivitäten neben dem Sprachunterricht, z.B. eine Besichtigung der atemberaubenden Fier-Schlucht (Gorges du Fier). Höhepunkt meines Aufenthalts in Annecy war zweifellos die Fahrradtour (CilfaCyclette), die mein Lehrer Frédéric jedes Jahr organisiert. Während dieser drei Tage haben wir per Fahrrad die Region südlich von Annecy kennengelernt, in Zelten geschlafen und schöne Städte wie Albertville oder Chambéry besichtigt. Ich kann Sprachbegeisterten CILFA nur wärmstens empfehlen, ich hoffe ich werde noch einmal Gelegenheit finden, dorthin zurückzukehren.

Though having attended French for four years in school I’ve never actually spoken it actively. To improve my language skills I decided to do a French language course in France. A friend of mine recommended CILFA in Annecy, the city was beautiful and they had effective lessons. Actually all my expectations were fulfilled. There are small classes, and so the learning conditions are excellent. The teachers are congenial and the pupils come from all over the world. Annecy is a really beautiful city situated at the bank of the Lake of Annecy and surrounded by mountains. It’s also an excellent spot for sailing, paragliding or other leisure activities. CILFA offers also different extra activities beside the language courses, like the meanwhile among students legendary three day bicycle tour “CilfaCyclette” to different beautiful cities in the area south of Annecy. To all those who want to learn this beautiful language I do strongly recommend this small language school, hopefully there’ll be the day when I will return there for another course.

Je vous recommand CILFA

J’ai passé un très bon trimestre au CILFA où j’ai réussi aux examens DELF B-1. Les cours étaient bien organisés et mon expérience a été merveilleuse. Tous les professeurs ont beaucoup d’expérience et tous sont très aimables. De plus, Annecy est très belle et bien située. C’est une ville superbe.

Je vous recommande le CILFA avec confiance!

J’ai suivi des cours de français au CILFA pendant un an en 2008. J’ai prolongé mon séjour à Annecy parce que j’ai beaucoup aimé le CILFA et Annecy. J’ai appris méthodiquement à lire, écrire, parler, écouter par des manières variées en petit groupe. L’ambiance était vraiment sympa. On a ri aux éclats plusieurs fois en classe!

Je m’appelle Na, je suis restée en France 1 an. J’ai effectué un stage en cuisine et j’ai appris le français. Le CILFA m’a permis d’apprendre le français. An excellent language school in a fantastic location

From October until December 2010, I spent three wonderful months at CILFA. The school is very well organised and everyone is very friendly - I immediately felt welcome and at ease there. The teaching was excellent too and the classes are small, enabling students to do a lot of speaking in French - something which was particularly important for me.
I also took part in the activities which are organised each Wednesday afternoon , and I very much enjoyed them. They were very varied and always good fun. They also gave me the opportunity to discover something of the area around Annecy - for example through a cruise on the lake.
I would have no hesitation in recommending CILFA to anyone wanting to learn French! As well as having an excellent language school, Annecy is a lovely town and there is a lot to do there too.

An excellent starting point!

Most of us who have learned foreign languages, we know the feeling of an inner " barrier " on " expressing ourselves " when it came about to speak. At Cilfa, this wasn’t a problem. In small groups, into a familiar, caring atmosphere, with well sized homeworks and after class meetings, we could sense how day by day we are opening ourselves, knowing each other, building up friendships, exactly on that way as we are! And we made all this with a lot of fun, by savouring the pleasure of communication... In the classroom and outside of it, in the splendid city of Annecy, with small coffeehouses and restaurants! "L’addition s’il vous plait! " :-) I miss you guys! See you, hopefully, next summer!!

GREAT PLACE TO STUDY FRENCH

When we decided to travel to France to study French in September 2009, we weren’t sure what we were getting into. CILFA in Annecy turned out to be the perfect place. The instructors were excellent: innovative, and most important, patient. The staff was personable and flexible in meeting the needs of the students — quite a feat considering our varied ages, nationalities, and individual goals. And, we absolutely loved Annecy! The CILFA experience truly enriched our visit to France.

My great experience in Cilfa

Do Francie jsem prijela a neumela jsem ani slovo francouzsky. V Cilfe jsem stravila 7 mesicu intenzivni vyuky a pak jsem nastoupila na mistni univerzitu, kde studuji Master, samozrejme ze ve francouzstine. Je to drina, ale hlavne to dokazuje, ze Cilfa me dobre pripravila, ze vyuka je organizovana a dukladna, atmosfera je velmi pratelska a prijemna a ucitele jsou sympaticti a proste uzasni. Cilfu rozhodne doporucuji a vsem preji mnoho stesti.

Quand je suis arrivée en France, je ne parlais pas un mot de français. J’ai étudié intensivement au Cilfa pendant 7 mois avant d’intégrer l’Université de Savoie en Master, avec les cours en français bien évidemment. C’est dur, mais je me rends compte tous les jours que le Cilfa m’a bien préparée à cette expérience "à la française". Les cours sont bien organisés et solides. L’ambiance est très agréable et amicale. Les professeurs sont patients, ouverts à tous et super sympas. Je ne peux que recommander le Cilfa et souhaite bonne chance à tous. »

J'aime Annecy

I was at CILFA for one month from April-May 2011. I'd absolutely recommend CILFA to anyone looking to learn French in France. The faculty and staff are very nice, knowledgeable and friendly. The class sizes are small and students are placed into appropriate levels so that everyone in your class is on the same learning level as you. I stayed in the Evire Residence, which was convenient since the classrooms were in the same building. Annecy is beautiful and you will find many activities and events to do. The scenery is beautiful, from the mountains to the lake, Annecy is a beautiful city. The bus is very easy to use or you can also rent a bike to get around. CILFA students get a big discount! CILFA is a great place to learn, have fun and meet new friends from all over the world. If I could, I would have extended my stay!! I will be back some day :)

Mon expérience dans CILFA :)

Bonjour à tous,
J'ai suivi un cours de français au CILFA pendant trois mois. On étudiait le matin le cours régulier du français, pendant que l'après-midi on profitait des activités dans la ville. Grâce aux professeurs, j'ai beaucoup amélioré mes connaissances de la langue, parce qu'ils sont excellents. J'ai adoré mon expérience au CILFA. Je me suis fait de très bons amis. En plus, la ville d'Annecy est vraiment belle, il y a beaucoup d'activités à faire et les gens sont très gentils.

Tuve la oportunidad de estudiar francés en CILFA por tres meses. Las mañanas estudiaba el curso regular de francés, mientras que las tarde disfrutábamos de actividades en la ciudad. Gracias a loss profesores mejoré mis conocimientos de la lengua, ya que ellos son excelentes. Disfruté mucho mi experiencia en CILFA e hice muy buenos amigos. Además la ciudad de Annecy es muy bella, hay muchísimas actividades para aprovechar y la personas son muy gentiles. Yo recomiendo 100% CILFA.

CILFA

I was fortunate to be able to attend CILFA for one month April-May of 2011. The staff was wonderful and helped me to arrange my lodgings as well as the course itself with very short notice. Annecy itself is simply magical. While one month is not enough to even begin to master the language, it did whet my appetite, and I am continuing my studies here at home with the intention of returning. If you are truly interested in seeing France and participating in the culture, I can highly recommend CILFA - they will treat you like family and share their time with you willingly.
